
Daryl Densford was called by God into full-time ministry when he was 10 or 11 years old while attending a Nazarene children’s camp at old St. Mary’s Campground near Cincinnati, Ohio. While it took him a while to get his feet firmly planted on the Solid Rock, he has now been in some form of ministry for over 30 years.
He began his theological/Biblical education at God’s Bible School in Cincinnati, Ohio before moving to Colorado Springs to attend Nazarene Bible College. At NBC he earned an Associates in Christian Education and Bachelors in Biblical Studies (1995). He later earned a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Northeastern Seminary at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York (2003). In May 2013, he received a Master of Arts in Christian Ministries (with an emphasis in “Ethics”) from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. Then in June 2014 he received a Master of Divinity from Northeastern Seminary in Rochester, New York. In May 2021 Daryl received a D.Min. from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
Daryl began his ministry at the Norwood, Ohio Church of the Nazarene after accepting his call to the ministry. He served there in various volunteer capacities for a number of years. From 1989-1992 Daryl served as an Associate Pastor in charge of Youth Ministry at the Northern Hills (Cincinnati), Ohio Church of the Nazarene. While studying at NBC he was the Youth Director at the Community Congregational Church of Manitou Springs, Colorado (UCC) (1992-1994) then served as Youth Pastor at Salem Baptist Church (BGC) in Colorado Springs (1994-1995).
After graduating from NBC, Daryl served as the pastor of the Rome Church of the Nazarene (1995-1999) then the Clifton Springs Church of the Nazarene (1999-2003), both in Upstate New York. In December 2003 he left the civilian pastorate to become a chaplain in the Army where he continued to serve until his retirement in February 2023.
Daryl entered the Army in 1988 as an enlisted Chaplain Assistant and served in the 4th Battalion, 5th Field Artillery, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. He returned to the Army as a Chaplain in January 2004 and has served as the Battalion Chaplain for 5th Squadron, 15th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Knox, Kentucky; 25th Signal Battalion, Camp Asalayah, Qatar; 3-159 Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, Illesheim, Germany and 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After being promoted to Major, he was the Brigade Chaplain for 1st Engineer Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; the MP Regimental Chaplain and Ethics Instructor at the U.S. Army Military Police School, also at Fort Leonard Wood; the Brigade Chaplain for 501st Military Intelligence Brigade in Yongsan, South Korea; the Chaplain Resource Manager at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; the Deputy Garrison Chaplain at Fort Wainwright, Alaska; and the Ethics Instructor at the U.S. Army Aviation School at Fort Rucker, Alabama. His deployments include a 13 month tour in Iraq with 3-159 ARB and a 12 month tour in Qatar and Afghanistan with 25th Signal BN.

His military education includes enlisted Basic Combat Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey (1988); the Chaplain Assistant Course at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey (1988); the Chaplain Officer Basic and Chaplain Captain Career Courses at Fort Jackson, South Carolina (2004 & 2010); the Cultural Awareness Training Course (Middle East Region) (2005); the Army Basic Instructor Course (2013); the Brigade Functional Course (2015) and Intermediate Level Education-Common Core at Fort Belvoir, VA (2016).
Daryl’s awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3 Device), NATO (non-article 5) Medal, and the Cold War Service Certificate.
Daryl is well traveled and has lived, traveled, studied, worked or ministered in: Afghanistan, Argentina, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Iraq, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Qatar, Slovakia, Switzerland, United Kingdom and many states in the United States which has helped to give him a better understanding of community relationships and international relations to be better prepared to represent his constituents and protect the state’s and the United States’ interests.
